GOOD RETURN

Good Return is the Australian branch of World Education and works to improve the quality of lives of people in poverty in the Asia Pacific region. Good Return is also one of the seven impact investment members of the Frontier Brokers Network, who have joined forces to adopt a gender lens in their projects through looking to address gender inequality in capital markets, their own investment processes as well as in local contexts where social enterprises operate. 

We worked with Good Return and the other members of the Frontier Brokers Network in 2021 to graphically record the second Frontier Brokers Network Convening Event, a virtual event that brings together organisations and members of the Frontier Brokers, with attendees from the Asia Pacific region to Spain in Europe and as far as the USA. The four day event aims to reflect on learnings and achievements over the past two years implementing gender lens investing, consider the future and potential next steps and form stronger connections with one another.

Dialling in different times each day to cater for the different members in different time zones around the globe, Jimmy visually captured the sessions using a mix of lettering and icon style illustrations. The sessions were made to be engaging not only through graphic recording, but also through grouping attendees into teams to participate in challenges each day. Jimmy had the fun challenge of bringing the team mascots together through illustrations, of which ranged from a Pikachu riding a goldfish through to a fly with trophee wings called “Winvest”. 

The response from the attendees and organisations involved is that the captured boards were a great resource to summarise and communicate the key outputs from an information filled four days.
